Unlock your brain’s natural healing mechanisms to move forward from the past
Heal from the past with EMDR Therapy at Coast Therapy. This evidence-based approach uses bilateral stimulation to reprocess traumatic memories from accidents, PTSD, or anxiety. By reframing negative beliefs and reducing emotional triggers, we help you regain control and live fully in the present.

What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals recover from trauma and emotional distress. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR helps reprocess traumatic memories using bilateral stimulation such as guided eye movements or tapping.
How it works
Trauma can become “frozen” in the brain. EMDR uses a multi-phase approach to help your brain naturally process and reframe these memories, so they no longer feel overwhelming or triggering.
- Reduces emotional intensity of past events
- Replaces negative self-beliefs with healthier thoughts
- Engages your brain’s natural healing mechanisms
What EMDR can help with
- PTSD and trauma
- Childhood abuse or neglect
- Sexual assault
- Car accidents or medical trauma
- Chronic anxiety or panic
- Grief and complicated loss
- First responder or caregiver burnout
What to expect:
EMDR is an eight-phase process, including assessment, preparation, desensitization, and installing positive beliefs. You are fully in control during sessions, and your therapist ensures you feel safe and grounded every step of the way.
Benefits of EMDR:
- Reduced emotional reactivity
- Improved mental clarity and sleep
- Increased sense of control and hope
- Fewer triggers and flashbacks
Is EMDR right for you?
If you’ve experienced something distressing — whether recently or long ago — EMDR may help you move forward. It’s particularly helpful when traditional talk therapy hasn’t brought full relief.
You don’t have to face it alone. Your healing starts here.
